Natural Resource Management

Kingdom Energy & Resources Group (KERG), an ambitious energy and natural resource investment company focused on unlocking the untapped potential of the Horn of Africa, Middle Africa, and West Africa regions. Our mission is to harness the abundant natural resources found in these areas, including vast oil and gas reserves, as well as mines and minerals, while also spearheading research and development efforts in renewable and alternative energy sources. Through strategic partnerships, exploration activities, and investments in critical infrastructure projects, KERG aims to establish itself as a key player in the energy and mining sectors, driving regional growth and sustainable development.

The Horn of Africa, Middle Africa, and West Africa regions boast significant natural resource wealth, making them prime locations for the exploration and extraction of energy as well as mines and minerals. The Horn of Africa, for instance, is home to substantial untapped oil and gas reserves, with estimated potential resources of over 50 billion barrels. Similarly, Middle Africa and West Africa have long been recognized as major players in the global energy market. Hosting vast oil and gas fields as well as rich mineral deposits, these regions continue to attract investments and interests from industry stakeholders worldwide.

At KERG, we recognize the immense potential that lies within these resource-rich landscapes, and we are committed to unlocking their value to meet the growing energy demands and mining needs of the region. With increasing energy consumption and a drive towards sustainable practices, the needs for responsible resource management, investment in renewable and alternative energy sources, and efficient mining practices have never been more crucial.

Our business objectives are centred around acquiring and developing natural resource assets, including oil and gas reserves, mines, and minerals, conducting comprehensive exploration activities to identify new prospects, collaborating closely with local governments to ensure responsible resource management, and spearheading construction and development projects for essential energy and mining infrastructure. As part of our commitments to sustainability and the development of an eco-friendly future, we also engage in research and development initiatives that focus on renewable and alternative energy solutions.

Ayers Resources Africa Pte Ltd

Natural Resource Investment and Sovereign-level Asset Management in Somaliland

Kingdom Investment Corporation Limited, driven by its dedication to the regional development of the Horn of Africa region, has acquired the services of Ayers Resources Africa Pte. Ltd. in Singapore to actively explore investment opportunities in the oil and gas sector and energy development in Somaliland. Currently, promising discussions are underway to establish a gas pipeline to connect Ethiopia's Calub, Hilala, and Dohar gas fields with the Berbera port of Somaliland. This ambitious project encompasses the construction of an LNG facility and an oil refinery at the Berbera port, further amplifying its significance in the oil and gas sector.

With a focus on utilizing development investment funding from KICL sovereign asset funds, the company has successfully identified an investment opportunity in Somaliland that will contribute to the rebuilding of Somaliland. This initiative seeks to fill the funding gap of the national plan, which amounts to Euro 2.5 billion, payable over the course of five years starting in 2023. The journey begins by harnessing the activation of natural resources in the region and subsequently transitioning into a phase of economic development backed up natural resources. Additionally, the company aims to establish public-private partnerships with the Somaliland government, allowing it to offer valuable advice on natural resource management, sovereign asset management, and treasury matters. This collaborative effort seeks to lay a robust foundation for future development.

The Somali basin, encompassing Somaliland and Somalia, has significant potential in offshore and onshore reserves. As assessed in 2016, these reserves are comparable in scale to those found in Kazakhstan, positioning the region as the 18th or 19th largest reserve globally. Geological conditions further support the belief that the area harbours commercially viable deposits, making it an attractive destination for oil and gas investments.
